Celebrating our 25th Anniversary, Sound Waters University returns to South Whidbey High School in Langley on February 2, 2019. Once again, attendees can choose from over 60 fun and informative classes and presentations about the natural world and the fragile environment of the Salish Sea.
Our 2019 keynote speaker is Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands, Hilary Franz. As Commissioner of Public Lands, Commissioner Franz protects and manages nearly six million acres of public lands in Washington State – from coastal waters and aquatic reserves, to working forests and farms, to commercial developments, and recreation areas. Her keynote speech “Uniting to Protect Our Waters” will discuss the need for hope and optimism in the face of environmental challenges.
Registration for Sound Waters University opens December 28th and closes January 20th, 2019. Based on the popularity of this event, no tickets will be sold at the door and all attendees must register in advance online. Attendees are urged to register early as the most popular classes fill quickly and in 2018, tickets to SWU sold out early. For more information, visit http://soundwaterstewards.org/sw/
