Sound Waters University 2017

This refers to a previous Sound Waters. Please see our Sound Waters University website for information on the newest Sound Waters.

Our most exciting event of the year – Sound Waters University – returns to South Whidbey High School Saturday February 4th. This “one day university for all – on all things Puget Sound” offers attendees a choice of fun and informative classes about the natural world and fragile environment of the Salish Sea.

Past participants will be excited to learn that 50 of the 61 classes are new this year with even more sessions on whales, birds, citizen science, adventures at sea, emergency preparedness, and so much more!

Keynote speaker Dr. Terrie Klinger, PH.D. – Director of the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs at the University of Washington  – will address ocean acidification:  how our oceans are changing and what that means for all of us who depend upon them.

You can register until Jan 29th, but classes fill quickly so it is advisable to register early for the best chances of getting the classes you want.  You may want to first mark/star the classes that look interesting to you – makes it easier when you get down to the harder part of ranking your choices during online registration.
