- Can you tell us something interesting about yourself that we may not know already?
- What is something that happened in our organization in 2016 you feel positive about?
- As a 2017 Board Member, what is something you would like to see happen or something you want to work toward?
I am a dog lover and would like to think I am helping to exonerate the pit bull breed. My family clan includes two rescue “pitties,” one of which is a recent rescue from Houston. My daily routine includes afternoon walks and evening couch time with Nugget and Sarge, who are the perfect couch “snugglers” and grand-kid companions. They always contribute to a peaceful end to a busy day.
I have enjoyed being part of the SWS organization since 2012 and am in awe of the dedicated volunteers who pushed this organization forward to what it is today. Talk about role models! During the past year I have seen a renewed effort toward teamwork and cross training, which is highly important to me. I especially enjoy being a part of the small team of volunteers who pull together the presenters supporting 60 different classes at Sound Waters University and work within the larger committee of volunteers who support this event.
As a 2017 Board member, I would like to pursue continued emphasis on cross training within all different types of projects to empower and engage our volunteer base. I also would like to pursue activities that would help engender a strong sense of community and self-fulfillment within our SWS membership and ideally re-engage inactive members.
