Meet the Board – Dave Brubaker

We thought we would take the opportunity to learn a bit more about our dedicated SWS Board Members by asking three simple questions.

1.  Can you tell us something interesting about yourself that we may not know already?

2.  What is something that happened in our organization in 2016 you feel positive about?

3.  As a 2017 Board Member, what is something you would like to see happen or something you want to work toward?

Here are Dave’s responses to the questions asked.

1) Our family is multi-racial and international:  We have three kids, oldest (son) and youngest (daughter) are adopted, both mixed white/black.  The middle is our “home grown son”.  The oldest married a young women from Nicaragua and they have 3 daughters, 2 “home grown” and one adopted from Mexico.  Our “home grown son married a US young woman and they have a daughter.  Our family picture is quite colorful.

2) I was very excited and relieved when SWS got its 501c3 status and was functioning well as a board driven organization with all committees functioning.

3) My hope is that SWS can hire a part time Executive Director.  This would really help solidify the organization and begin working as a true non-profit.

Here is a link to Dave Brubaker’s Board Member Profile page which includes information about his volunteer and work history.

Thank you Dave!
