February mornings at Deer Lagoon Lake can draw a wide variety of waterfowl. Ducks should be most numerous, but grebes and other waterbirds may be encountered.
Calling all early birds to join Jay Adams for this wonderful winter bird field trip! February mornings at Dugualla Lake and Bay can draw a wide variety of waterfowl that lures winter birders to Dugualla Bay Preserve. Ducks should be most numerous, but grebes and other waterbirds could be encountered. The view of the natural wonders from the Dike Road, which is located between Skagit Bay and the saltwater estuary on the east side and Dugualla Lake and freshwater wetlands on the west, will appeal to all. The field trip will include a discussion about the Whidbey Camano Land Trust's recent project that restored the estuary and wetlands. No significant hiking is involved. Please bring your own scopes and binoculars if you have them. We will have viewing scopes to share.
