With over 20 years in conservation, Kurt leads the land protection program staff to acquire priority lands and waters and secure grants and other funding. Kurt earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a Master in Ecosystem Management from Duke University. Before coming to Whidbey in 2022, Kurt worked for The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin and protected important natural areas to benefit biodiversity, natural communities, and climate resiliency.
