Pacific Northwest Forest

Moving the Target: Forest Management in a Changing Climate

About the Class

11:15 AM - 12:15 PM
Speaker: Dave Peterson

Higher temperatures, drought, and ecological disturbances are creating challenges for forest ecosystems in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.  Fortunately, there are options for reducing some of the negative effects and adapting to a warmer future.  We will explore the primary effects of climate change on tree species and forest ecosystems in western Washington, then discuss management actions that can increase long-term resilience.
