This class is an introduction to the mushrooms of South Whidbey for the person newly interested in fungi. We will focus on the beauty and ecology of our local fungi, learn the basics of mushroom identification, and receive tips on collection, edibility, and toxicity.
The instructor is an experienced amateur mycologist and mushroom photographer, not a scientific expert. She hopes to share the spiritual and artistic significance of mushrooms in her life, in addition to factual information and photos througha Power Point presentation.
Though the class is designed for beginners, people with all levels of mushroom knowledge are encouraged to come and share in the joy.
