Walk & Talks

The Sound Water Stewards will host a walk & talk on the Cornet Bay Marina Dock to discuss the crab light traps they are monitoring for the Swinomish Crab Abundance Monitoring Project.

  • This activity is limited to 15 people, so please register early to ensure your spot. If you don’t see the option below, the spots have been filled.

The Northwest Straits Foundation, Orca Network, and Whidbey Island Conservation District will be hosting separate walk & talks throughout the afternoon on our way to Hoypus Point.

  • The NWSF will focus on the restoration efforts at Cornet Bay and Hoypus Point over the years.
  • Orca Network will focus on the endangered Southern Resident orcas, demonstrating why restoration projects are important to the health of the orcas and salmon.
  • The WICD will focus on highlighting native habitat along the shorelines and their importance in improving local habitat quality and diversity.

Come Prepared

Come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and State Park Discover Pass. If you will be participating in the planting event, please bring work gloves and your favorite tools for planting, we will be providing a limited selection.
