Job Announcement-Camano Coordinator

Due to the forthcoming retirement of Joan Schrammeck, current Camano Coordinator for Sound Water Stewards, we are hiring the next Camano Coordinator.

Sound Water Stewards of Island County seeks a well-organized, technology-savvy, people-person to work with board, staff and members to coordinate education, stewardship, and community science activities in the Camano area. Camano Coordinator is a key team player who provides program oversight, direction and connection for the Camano Stewards to multiple projects. While most projects and events occur “in-the-field,” the Coordinator spends more time on email, websites, Zoom, Google-Suite, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, WordPress, SignUpGenius, Vimeo, Slack, and other web tools to support members training and involvement.

The Coordinator recruits and coordinates Camano area Stewards (ie members) for community science, stewardship, and education projects, events and committees. The Camano Coordinator collaborates with Camano Steering Committee, Camano Events Team, Social Team and Stewardship Committee. Camano Coordinator communicates volunteer opportunities to all members; builds relationships with community and partners; manages e-newsletter design and mailing list, designs webpages and writes website content, hosts frequent Zoom meetings and presentations, and manages the recruitment and orientation process for new Stewards annually from both Whidbey and Camano Islands. Responsibilities may also include involvement in fundraising, donor events, grant-writing, donor tracking and appreciation.

Camano Coordinator works independently, remotely, using internet. SWS provides PC laptop, printer, and iPhone.
