As the SWS class of 2024 is wrapping up their course work many class members participated in a final field trip lead by Dr. Linda Brubaker, Emeritus Professor at the School of Environmental and Forest Science, University of Washington, Camano Island resident and member of SWS class of 2008.
It was a perfect fall afternoon at the Al Emerson Nature Trail at Camano Island State Park. And, as she has done for decades, Linda engaged the group with her interactive teaching style. The group gained a deeper appreciation and connection to local trees and forests.
At the end of the field trip, SWS board member Gaylen Heacock presented Linda a bouquet of flowers and words of appreciation for the many years Linda has dedicated to sharing her passion and knowledge with others. This Forest Walk Field Trip was recorded and will be available among online resources on the SWS website once it has been edited.
