Laminated EZ-ID Card Set

Seaweeds and Seagrasses
featuring sea weeds and grasses of the Salish Sea* and the Pacific Northwest Coast

These ID cards were originally developed for use by WSU Beach Watcher intertidal monitoring teams. Nearly every seaweed encountered during eight years of monitoring at 28 different sites is represented. (see species list)

The cards show:
  • Side 1 - Green Seaweeds (see detailed view)
  • Side 2 - Seagrasses, Cordgrass
  • Side 3 - Brown Seaweeds
  • Side 4 - Brown Seaweeds - The Kelps
  • Sides 5,6 - Red Seaweeds

* The Salish Sea encompasses Puget Sound, the Straits of Georgia, and the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Its waters are shared by British Columbia, Canada & Washington State. The name honors the Coastal Salish Peoples who historically inhabited this coastline. (See MAP).
