Virtual Molt Search Training with WSU & WSG

This online Molt Search training will leave you ready to participate in monitoring for invasive European green crabs and native Dungeness crabs on your local shorelines. You’ll learn how to identify crab molts, conduct a timed beach search, and understand the threat that invasive European green crabs bring to Washington shorelines.
This event is in preparation for the Salish Sea Wide Molt Blitz occurring across the region on Friday 6/26. Stop by any local shoreline on June 26th to complete a Molt Search independently, contributing to Washington’s largest single-day dataset on molt distribution across the Salish Sea. Or come to one of the many locations staffed by trainers to get your questions answered and guide you in your first Molt Search on the beach.
