10 am: Cassie Cichorz, Outreach Specialist for WA Dept. Of Agriculture, Emerging Pests!

Please join us as our monthly member meetings resume after a summer break. Our speaker this month is Cassie Cichorz, an outreach specialist from the WA Department of Agriculture. Cassie will cover the northern giant hornet’s biology, detail the threats, and highlight eradication efforts. She’ll also describe emerging pests of concern such as the Japanese beetle and spotted lantern fly. Cassie will explain how you can detect, prevent the spread, and protect Washington’s resources from invasive species.

There will be preserved specimens to examine and handouts.
