SWS Monthly Meeting
March 9 @ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Join us on Zoom or in person at the Camano Island Library for our monthly meeting. All are welcome, and we hope to see some new faces among the familiar ones!
Welcome
Land Acknowledgement
Let us acknowledge that we live on an island surrounded by the Salish Sea – in the heart of Cascadia located in the Pacific Northwest – on lands shaped by global mantel plate collision, subduction melt volcanic eruption, continental glacial sculpting and ever- erosional river deposition.
Further, let us acknowledge this place was home to peoples who lived for time immemorial in sustainable relationship with their place before our coming to also be here.
And so, let us be inspired to consider the wisdom of their ways that sustained them for time immemorial in this place.

Monthly Speaker
Scott Chase will be the speaker for the March monthly meeting. His topic is Stalking the Wild Mushroom.
Chase will explain the interdependence of mushrooms with trees and plants, showing how mushrooms not only provide nutrients, but also serve as the Internet of the forest by allowing plants and trees to communicate and signal danger. He’ll also demonstrate how to use mushroom spore prints to create a fun activity for the whole family.
