In October, our guest speaker is Aquaculture and Marine Water Quality Specialist Teri King of Washington SeaGrant at University of Washington. Teri will share initial assessments of the shellfish die-off after the June 2021 record heatwave that coincided with extraordinarily low tides that exposed shellfish and other marine life to extreme high water temperatures, air temperatures and hours of direct sun under clear skies. Learn more about Teri King who also manages Sound Toxins for which Sound Water Stewards collect water samples to identify and count plankton.
