SWS Celebrates Low-Tide

July 5 @ 11:00 am 2:00 pm

Let’s celebrate the next-to-lowest tide of the summer!

Low tide is nearly noon (-3.4 ft @ 11:48 am) – arrive as early as you like

Join fellow Stewards at Point Partridge inside Fort Ebey State Park. Here we can explore beach and see the abundance of rarely exposed marine life clinging to the rocks or view the bluffs or walk the trails.

Location: Fort Ebey State Park beach access and picnic shelter. Turn Right (to beach) when you reach the T in the road. See map BELOW. Site #21 in Getting to the Water’s Edge. Discover Pass (or one-day pass) required which can be purchased at entrance.

Potluck Picnic Lunch to Share after Beach Exploration – Families Welcome!

Please bring:

  • EZ ID cards
  • knee pads or gardening pad
  • walking sticks – seaweed and rocks are super slippery!
  • shoes or boots that can get wet and slimy
  • binoculars
  • folding chair or blanket
  • warm clothes, layers
  • water bottle (there are water spigots nearby)
  • potluck dish or your own lunch

Allow ample time to drive, park, walk to the beach, and out to the water’s edge. Wear shoes or boots that can get wet. Bring walking sticks as rocks are covered with seaweed and very very slippery. Very rocky.
