ROOTING OUT INVADERS: Addressing noxious weed control on Camano Island

Invasive weeds are an ever present concern for both private and public land owners throughout Washington state. Their impacts range across a diverse array of habitats from forests, to fields, to lakes, to our shorelines. In 2022 alone Island County residents disposed of 112 tons of noxious weed material. In a world where the presence of weeds is so widespread, how do we discern what weeds carry the biggest impacts and how can we responsibly deal with controlling them?

Wednesday, August 16, 7 pm, at the Island County Multi-Purpose Center, 141 East Camano Drive, Seth Luginbill, Program Coordinator for the Island County Noxious Weed Control Board, will review some of the most prevalent noxious weed species found on Camano as well as examine best management practices for dealing with the control and eradication of these species
