Ranger Talk-Water Quality and the Salmon Lifecycle

July 20 @ 10:00 am 11:00 am

Stop by Camano Island State Park to hear an informative ranger talk and participate in activities that connect our local waterways to a species that needs our help….salmon! Sound Water Stewards will have microscopes set up for viewing the tiniest food source for baby salmon (plankton). Our Sound Toxins team will be present to discuss the health of our local water, how plankton plays a role, and how these microscopic organisms connect to baby salmon during their life cycle.

Sound Water Stewards will be promoting the new summer educational series, “Baby Salmon Live Here”. We will be highlighting a number of events and activities taking place until Labor Day, designed to get the public connected with all 5 of the local salmon species, their role in our environment, habitat needs, and what is being done to save this species right here on Camano Island!

Location: We’ll be down by the CISP boat launch (see below)
