Rain Garden Site Preparation

October 10 @ 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM

The Island County Historical Museum native plant educational garden is ready to prepare the site for the Spring rain garden installation. We want to save as many plants in the current landscape as possible and need help digging them up and potting them. We plan to overwinter these plants and sell them in the Spring to help raise additional funds for the upcoming rain garden landscape project.

We would like 10 volunteers per day, if possible. If you are not a Master Gardener, please sign up for a “gardener” slot. Please bring gardening gloves (we will have some available, but sizes are limited) and weather-appropriate clothing, as we will be out there rain or shine. We will provide the rest of the supplies and some light refreshments. Your time and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any further questions, please contact Troyann.

Stewards, don’t forget to log your volunteer hours on our website! This opportunity would be considered part of the “other” category, as this opportunity doesn’t fall under a specific project or committee.
