11:30 am: Breakout Rooms for Camano and Whidbey

Topic: Living with Beavers for Streamflow and Habitat Restoration– While beavers can cause challenges for landowners, they are invaluable for creating, protecting, and preserving fresh water and wildlife habitat. There are solutions to help landowners live peacefully alongside them, allowing them to continue paddling around and raising their young while reducing the impact they have on homes or infrastructure. Learn how to identify beaver activity, their habitat benefits, and about coexistence strategies.

Speaker: Ariana Winkler, Habitat Restoration Project Coordinator Snohomish Conservation District

With a restoration ecology background, Ariana Winkler promotes beaver coexistence and their habitat benefits at Beavers Northwest as a Project Coordinator and at Snohomish Conservation District as their Living with Beaves Program Lead.
