Kelp and Eelgrass Recovery Strategy Meeting

The Island, San Juan, Snohomish/Stillaguamish, and Whatcom Local Integrating Organizations (LIOs) are inviting you to a virtual (via Zoom) brown-bag lunch focused on the Marine Vegetation Implementation Strategy. This strategy will be developed over 2025 and will build off a foundation established through two regional plans, the Puget Sound Eelgrass Recovery Strategy and the Puget Sound Kelp Conservation and Restoration Plan to coalesce the priorities and needs from both plans into a comprehensive strategy.
This event is an opportunity to dive into the health and recovery of kelp and eelgrass across different parts of North Puget Sound and allow you to share local kelp and eelgrass priorities that are important to you. The completed Marine Vegetation Implementation Strategy will help guide investments in marine vegetation projects, as well as increase coordination and support for conservation and recovery across the habitat types.
