Invasive Weed Removal

SWS help is needed to remove invasive weeds in partnership with the Friends of Whidbey State Parks

Location: South Whidbey State Park – in an area where native plants were recently planted

Rain or Shine, we start at 9am. Sign in, safety check and choose your work area. Go team!

South Whidbey – park in the first parking lot upon entering the park.

REMOVAL OF: Yellow Archangel (Lamiastrum galeobdolon) is a fast-growing weed that is taking over a wetland. Plants are easy to pull, bag and will be sent to the trash.

REMOVAL OF: American Holly & English Ivy ~ these 2 plants are near the Ranger House, in the same area as the Yellow Archangel. The plants can be cut, bagged, and sent to the trash.

Cookies for all volunteers! Bring gloves, water bottle, & mask.

Friends of Whidbey State Parks & State Park will have tools and extra gloves available onsite.
