Holiday Trees for Salmon
December 14, 2024 @ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The Adopt A Stream Foundation’s annual Holidays Trees for Salmon event will be available Tuesdays through Saturdays through Dec. 24.at the Northwest Stream Center, 600 -128th Street SE, Everett WA 98208 (driving directions: https://www.streamkeeper.org/contact-us).
There will be a great selection of live, potted 2- to 6-foot ($20, $40, $60, $100) Sitka Spruce, Western Red Cedar, Western Hemlock, Shore Pine, Grand Fir and Douglas Fir trees. “After the holidays, plant your tree and you will help out the planet for hundreds of years,” says Adopt A Stream Foundation Director Tom Murdoch. “Or bring your tree back to the Northwest Stream Center after the holidays and the Foundation’s Stream Team will plant your tree next to a salmon stream in the spring where it will help out salmon for hundreds of years! Both options will provide a great holiday memory.”
As a holiday bonus, there is free admission to the Northwest Stream Center Nature Trail throughout the month of December. There, you will be able to wander past a trout stream exhibit onto an elevated forest and wetland walk. It winds through 25 acres next to North Creek, 3 feet above the forest floor and surrounding wetlands.
You can also get all of your holiday shopping done in the Nature Store; proceeds benefit environmental education and salmon stream restoration.
Everyone who purchases a tree will receive a 2025 Adopt A Stream Foundation membership. Benefits include free entry to the Northwest Stream Center Nature Trail for 2025, discounts to 2025 Streamkeeper Academy events, and 10% discounts on purchases at the Nature Store.
Proceeds from Holiday Trees for Salmon sales benefit the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s environmental education and salmon stream restoration programs.
