Garry Oak Restoration: An Ecological Lifeboat in a Changing Climate

Robert Steelquist will present

  • an overview of Garry Oak natural history in the Pacific Northwest,
  • restoration efforts on the Sequim Prairie,
  • Garry oaks in deep time and Indigenous ethnobotany and
  • implications in a changing climate.

He is a Sequim-based naturalist, writer, photographer and environmental educator. His experience and interest in Garry oaks spans a lifetime of living among oaks of the Pacific Northwest. Questions: email olympic@wnps.org.
