Forage Fish Egg Survey Training in Port Townsend

July 13, 2022 @ 9:00 am 4:00 pm

NW Straits Foundation is sponsoring a training on July 13 in Port Townsend. You may sign up to attend the day-long hands-on Forage Fish Egg Sample Collection Training led by researchers at Washington Dept of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). Contact Leah Robison of NW Straits Foundation with questions. To attend, please sign up through Kelly Zupich, Island County Marine Resources Committee Coordinator, because this project is under the umbrella of the MRC.

Once trained, you may assist locally as a backup community scientist but there is no funding for you to receive a set of equipment or to start a new egg collection site on Whidbey or Camano.

Learn more about the program here:

YOU are also invited to attend a zoom meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 10:30 am to 11:30 am which is an MRC Check-In on the Egg Sampling volunteers across several MRCs. WDFW staff Kate Olson and Lisa Hillier will be on hand to share updates. Get the zoom link from Leah Robison (360-867-8322).
