Cama Beach: Explore Low-Tide, Camano-August 2023

Meredith, State Parks Interpretive Specialist holds a moon snail for the first time. It was discovered by a 10 year old Park guest.
The public is invited to Cama Beach State Park to explore and learn about the species that live in the minus-tide zone (when the tide falls below 0 feet) to see the species that are only revealed on the rare and spectacular lowest tides of the year. Sponsored by Cama Beach Foundation in partnership with Sound Water Stewards and Cama Beach State Park.

August 30 is a special low-tide event where Cama Beach Foundation volunteers use a sein net to gently bring fish to the water’s edge where small children can use a hand-held net to capture fishes and invertebrates and then put them in buckets which are carried up to the seawall where fishes are put into an aquarium for all to see up close. Plus a touch tank!
