Parks After Dark

Sound Water Stewards educational programs are at the heart of everything we do. We are excited to continue partnering with WA State Parks to offer educational programs like bioluminescence talks. For this event, campers can meet park staff and Sound Water Steward volunteers at the Camano Island State Park Amphitheater to learn about bioluminescence as well as all the critters that come out after dark in the park. After the initial presentation, campers will then get to head down to explore the beach and look for bioluminescent plankton, Noctiluca, as well as other marine creatures attracted to our light trap.
