
Tabitha coordinates Stewards for education, community science and stewardship activities on Whidbey. Using her degree in marine science, Tabitha supports the Community Science Committee and the Technology Committee, and she co-leads Sound Waters University and assists with the annual training of new members. As a scuba diver and professional photographer, Tabitha films underwater for use in our educational videos.
Tabitha is an experienced marine science community educator; she was a Marine Conservation educator for 500+ guests daily at the Mystic Aquarium, assisted docent training and led VIP tours. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences from the University of Connecticut where she was the President of the Eco Husky environmental club for 4 years. Her desire to inspire youth about the marine environment led her to become a STEM Education Ambassador with AmeriCorps. In her year of service, she engaged 100+ pre-k -12th graders weekly, with an innovative STEM-based ocean adventure curriculum and inspired new marine stewards.
