Board Term 2023-2025
Jim moved to Camano Island in December 2021 and joined SWS in January 2022. He is a graduate in the Class of 2022.
Jim is semi-retired from a career in the turfgrass industry where he was a golf course superintendent for over 30 years. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at Delta Community College, in California, where he teaches Horticulture classes virtually.
Jim has two wonderful children, a daughter Erica, who lives in Boston working for the Boston Public Library, and son Harrison who is married to Marissa. Harrison is a graduate student at Portland State University and will graduate in June 2023 with a degree in Urban and Environmental Planning.
Jim loves to fly fish, play golf (what a surprise 😉), hike, kayak, cook and do new things that I have never done before! He just loves Camano and Whidbey and has concentrated on exploring the islands while volunteering for SWS.
Jim says, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my volunteer activities with SWS. I have learned about so much that I had no idea even existed. The best part is meeting new friends and doing as many activities as I possibly could. I look forward to helping SWS in any way possible.”
