Beach Etiquette

beach etiquette 101

Leave the beach cleaner than when you arrived – help keep the beach clean for everyone to enjoy, including all the critters. If you see trash, pick it up.

Watch your step – try to avoid stepping on live animals and seaweeds, even those hiding under rocks or under seaweeds.

Put everything back where you found it – place every rock back where you found it to save the animals’ lives that rely on the shade and moisture under the rock or cling to the rock.

One wet finger rule – at the tide pools, use one wet finger to touch creatures that normally are underwater.

Help by spreading the word! Teach your friends and family to be good beach stewards.

Always pick up after your pet – never leave animal poop on the beach or near the water. Take home and dispose in the trash can.
